Big announcement regarding opening of transport in Sindh
KARACHI: Transport Minister Owais Shah has announced to bring transport on roads in Sindh before or immediately after Eid and sent a summary of relief to transporters to Sindh Chief Minister.
According to details, Transport Minister Owais Shah has announced to bring transport on roads in Sindh before or immediately after Eid. A four-point summary has been sent to Sindh Chief Minister to give relief to transporters.
The summary recommends 100 per cent waiver of fines on transporters, 50 per cent waiver of motor vehicle inspection tax and 50 per cent waiver of excise duty while 50 per cent rebate on route permit fee.
Awais Shah said that SOPs are ready and medical teams are being formed.
Yesterday, Sindh Transport Minister Owais Shah had said on the appeal of Prime Minister Imran Khan to open transport in the provinces that transport in the province can not be opened yet, the main reason for not opening public transport is the increase in cases, no action on SOPs. However, the Prime Minister also admitted that people are not following the SOPs.
Earlier, the Karachi Transporters Union had demanded the provincial government to open transport in the city, saying that business centers had been opened and transport was closed.
