Increase in corona cases, face mask mandatory
ISLAMABAD: The government has made face masks mandatory in view of increasing cases of corona virus and appealed to the people to wear masks in crowded places including public transport and markets.
Dr Zafar Mirza, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister for Health, said in a press conference that 532,000 corona tests have been conducted in the country so far and 66,457 corona cases have been reported so far while 1,395 people have died from corona.
“Corona cases are on the rise, epidemics are spreading and local migration is high. In 24 hours, Corona has claimed 78 lives, including four health workers. Safety of frontline health workers is our first priority,” he said.
Dr. Zafar Mirza said that 92 percent of the epidemic is transmitted to the local level. It is not appropriate to spread negative rumors about Corona. Guide the nation properly. We are trying our best.
He said that 25 per cent of the health assets in the country have been utilized so far. As the epidemic is spreading, cases are increasing and deaths are also increasing. We need to strictly enforce SOPs. Protect yourself and others, including public transport, markets where crowds must wear masks.
