Examinations in universities, a major decision of the Higher Education Commission

Karachi: A meeting chaired by HEC Chairman Dr Tariq Banuri agreed to start regular online classes from June 1 and decided to take online exams in case the lockdown does not end.
According to details, a meeting was held between the Vice-Chancellors on the issue of closure of educational institutions. The meeting was chaired by HEC Chairman Dr. Tariq Banuri.
The meeting proposed to compile results through an open book, MCQs, assignments and agreed to start regular online classes from June 1.
The Higher Education Commission directed the universities to formulate a policy for taking exams and share it with the students and it was decided to take online exams in case the lockdown does not end, to promote university students in the next semester
The Vice-Chancellors complained about the internet issue and sought the help of HEC in this matter. The Chairman HEC said that all the universities would clarify the modalities for online communication and resolve the issues faced.
The Higher Education Commission directed all the universities to formulate an online examination policy and said that it should be approved by the boards and legal bodies while all the universities were also directed to formulate a uniform admission policy.
