PIA plane crashes into building trying to land, investigative report
KARACHI: A preliminary investigation report has been released on the tragic accident involving a PIA passenger plane in Model Colony area of Shar-e-Quaid.
According to the preliminary investigation report of the Karachi plane crash, the captain of the plane tried to take his plane up on the instructions of the ATC controller. Both the engines were working while grounding the plane.
The report said that during the ground, the captain tried to open the landing gear again, during the same attempt, both engines of the plane suddenly stopped working, the plane was at an altitude of 1800 feet during the ground.
According to the preliminary investigation report, while trying to land the plane towards the runway, the passenger plane collided with the building.
It is to be noted that the PIA plane crashed near Karachi airport, as a result of which 54 people were killed and dozens injured. Has ordered an immediate investigation.
A PIA and Civil Aviation spokesman said the PIA plane had 99 passengers and eight crew members on board. DIG Noman Siddiqui said that 4 houses were destroyed on the ground due to the plane crash. The crash site was cordoned off and completely sealed.
