The Prime Minister issued another important directive to reduce the prices of petroleum products
ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan has issued another important directive regarding significant reduction in prices of petroleum products in the country.
According to details, the Prime Minister took important steps to reduce the prices of petroleum products, he directed the provinces to take emergency measures to further reduce inflation.
Sending a message to the provincial governments of Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in this regard, the Prime Minister said that the fruits of reduction in prices of petroleum products should be passed on to the common man.
Prime Minister Imran Khan said that inflation has been going on without any delay due to increase in oil prices. He directed the provinces to take action against illicit profiteering in collaboration with the district administration, and to reduce prices in any case, otherwise take drastic action.
Sources in the Prime Minister’s Office said that a message has also been sent to the provincial governments of Sindh and Balochistan, asking them to take appropriate steps to reduce prices in the light of the Prime Minister’s directives. It is directed that the direct benefit of reduction in prices of petroleum products should be passed on to the people.
It may be recalled that the government has reduced the price of petrol by Rs 15 per liter for May, after which the new price has been reduced to Rs 81.58 per liter, while high speed diesel has been reduced by Rs 27.15 per liter. The price per liter has gone up to Rs 80.10. Kerosene has been reduced by Rs 30 to Rs 47.44 per liter, while light diesel has been reduced by Rs 15 to Rs 47.51 per liter.
