Shortage of injections for coronary patients, crackdown on profiteers begins
ISLAMABAD: Strict action has been initiated against profiteers for the shortage of injections used for coronary patients and overcharging while important decisions were taken to ensure the availability of remedial injection in the market.
According to the details, the spokesperson of the Ministry of Health, taking note of the shortage of injections used for coronary patients and overcharging has initiated strict action against the profiteers.
Dr. Zafar Mirza, Special Assistant for Health, said that action would be taken against those who were selling drugs at exorbitant prices. Dr. Zafar Mirza said that the government is taking effective measures for the treatment of coronary patients, important decisions have been taken to ensure the availability of remedial injection in the market while 2 importers and 12 local manufacturers have been approved. A complaint can be lodged on 080003727 for overcharging of Actimara injection, DRAP will take stern action against the profiteers.
A meeting of the Drug Pricing Committee was held under the direction of Dr Zafar Mirza. The meeting fixed the minimum price of remediating in accordance with the law. Dr Zafar Mirza said that the final approval regarding the price would be given by the federal government.
