KARACHI: The budget for the new financial year of Sindh province will be presented today. Murad Ali Shah will present a budget of Rs 12.5 trillion in the Sindh Assembly today.
According to details, the budget for the new financial year of Sindh will be presented today. Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah will present the budget in the Sindh Assembly today. The total target of Sindh budget has been set at Rs 12.5 trillion.
The budget will be approved in a special cabinet meeting before the assembly, sources said, adding that the decision to increase salaries and pensions would be taken at a cabinet meeting. According to sources, this year there will be a budget deficit due to less money from the federation and the situation in Corona. Development expenditure in the budget for the new financial year will be Rs 233 billion.
In the new financial year, the non-development expenditure will be Rs 10 trillion. In view of the record deficit, the expenditure related to recruitment will be reduced. In the new financial year, only recruitment will be made in the health department.
According to sources, Rs 10 billion will be allocated for Corona in Sindh budget, Rs 23 billion will be set aside for construction of 5 new hospitals and upgradation of others, Rs 13 billion will be set aside for rehabilitation of secondary schools. It is proposed to set aside Rs 50 billion for the development expenditure of the education department. It has also been decided to start the Billion Tree project in Sindh. The federal government will pay 50% for the Billion Tree project. The budget proposes to set aside Rs 3 billion for the Red Line bus project.
Apart from this, Rs 89 crore will be set aside for transport in Orange Line, Blue Line and Karachi. Rs 89 crore will be set aside for SIUT expansion project.
