ISLAMABAD: The number of people infected with coronavirus infection in Pakistan has increased to 237,489, Pakistan is the 12th country in the world out of 213 countries in terms of number of cases.

According to the details, 2,980 new cases were reported in the country during the last 24 hours, while 83 more patients died. The command center said the highest death toll was in Punjab at 1,929, followed by Sindh at 1,614, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa at 1,045, Islamabad at 140, Balochistan at 124 and Gilgit-Baltistan at 30. 40 deaths have been recorded in Azad Kashmir.

Sindh has the highest number of corona cases at 97,626, Punjab has 83,599 corona cases reported, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has 28,681 cases, Islamabad has 13,650, Balochistan has 10,919 and Gilgit-Baltistan has 1,595 corona cases reported. However, the number of cases in Azad Kashmir is 1,419.

During the last 24 hours, 21,951 krona tests were conducted in the country. According to the NCOC, 1,467,104 krona tests have been conducted in the country so far. 54,676 patients have recovered in Sindh, 50,916 in Punjab, 17,266 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 9,655 in Islamabad, 6,432 in Balochistan, 1,232 in Gilgit-Baltistan and 788 in Azad Jammu and Kashmir.
