On the issue of retirement age and pension, the government gave good news to government employees
ISLAMABAD: Special Assistant to the Prime Minister for Establishment Muhammad Shehzad Arbab has termed the rumors circulating regarding lowering of retirement age as baseless.
According to official media reports, the Special Assistant to the Establishment said that there was no veracity in the news of setting the retirement age of federal employees at 55 years.
He said that the government was not even considering any such move and the news of retirement of government employees without pension and other benefits was not true.
It may be recalled that in recent days, news was circulating on social networking sites based on unverified sources that the government of Pakistan had reduced the retirement age of government employees by five years.
It was reported that the government was considering lowering the retirement age from 60 to 55 and not giving pensions or other benefits to government employees after retirement.
