Senate passes anti-terrorism amendment bill
ISLAMABAD: The Anti-Terrorism Amendment Bill and the United Nations Security Council Amendment Bill were passed in the Senate. After the approval of the bill, the Chairman Senate congratulated the members on the advance of Eid.
According to details, a meeting of the Senate was held under the chairmanship of Sadiq Sanjarani. The meeting passed the Anti-Terrorism Act Amendment Bill and the UN Security Council Amendment Bill.
The Anti-Terrorism Act Amendment Bill was introduced in the Senate by Babar Awan, while it was Babar Awan who introduced the UN Security Council Amendment Bill on behalf of the Foreign Minister.
After the approval of the bill, Chairman Senate Sadiq Sanjrani congratulated the members on the advance of Eid.
The Anti-Terrorism Amendment Bill and the UN Security Council Act Amendment Bill were passed in the National Assembly yesterday during opposition protests, drunkenness and chanting of slogans.
The opposition had demanded that Shahid Khaqan Abbasi should be given a chance to speak first.
All the proposals of the opposition on both the bills were rejected in the National Assembly session.
