ISLAMABAD: A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) has been signed with Chinese companies to generate 700 MW of electricity from solar energy. The agreement will provide affordable and clean electricity to the industries in the country.
According to details, a memorandum of understanding has been reached with Chinese companies for solar power generation. Trade Adviser Abdul Razzaq Dawood said that an agreement has been reached between Power China and FIEDM, solar units have been set up in M3 Industrial City and Allama Iqbal Industrial City. shall be.
Abdul Razzaq Dawood said that 700 MW of solar energy would be produced from solar units, cheap, clean electricity would be available for industries in the country, cheap electricity would reduce the cost of products and increase consumption in the global market.
The Trade Adviser said that special industrial and economic zones would be developed under C-Pack, moving towards meeting the sustainable energy needs of industries.
It may be recalled that work on another power generation project was started in May this year and two coal-fired units of China Power Hub Generation were activated. Both the power plants generate 660 MW of electricity.
The 2 billion project includes two power plants and a coal jetty.
China Power Hub Generation Company Pvt. Ltd. (SPIC) is the first foreign Thar Mill Power Project from China as part of the Belt and Road Project.
