According to News, the Election Commission of Pakistan has sought details of assets for 2019 and 2020 from Members of Parliament
The ECP has directed the members that the last date for submission of details of assets is December 31, so all Members of Parliament should submit the details before the due date.
A statement issued by the Election Commission said that the membership of a member who does not submit the details of assets by the due date will be suspended.
It may be recalled that earlier in 2019, the Election Commission had also sought details of assets from the Members of Parliament The membership of more than 200 Members of Parliament who had not submitted their data by the due date was also suspended.
The members whose membership was suspended included PPP chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, former president and PPP co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari, current education minister Shafqat Mahmood, environment minister Zartaj Gul and others.
After the suspension of membership, all the members had submitted the details of their assets to the Election Commission after which they were reinstated.
