ISLAMABAD: Big news for people regarding petrol prices are likely to come down across Pakistan from October 16. OGRA has sent a summary of changes in prices of petroleum products to the government.
According to details, the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) has sent a summary of changes in the prices of petroleum products to the government. The summary recommends a slight reduction in the prices of petroleum products from October 16.
Sources said that OGRA recommended maintaining the prices in view of the global market and proposed a slight reduction in the prices of petroleum products of the Petroleum Division.

The final decision on the prices of petroleum products will be taken in consultation with the Prime Minister. After the final approval of the Prime Minister, the Ministry of Finance will announce the new prices.
It may be recalled that the government had decided to maintain the price of petrol from October 1 and announced a reduction of Rs 2.5 per liter in the price of high speed diesel.
The notification issued by the Prime Minister’s House said that the government had decided to maintain petrol prices for the next fortnight and reduce the price of high speed diesel.
For the first fortnight of October, the price of petrol will remain unchanged at Rs 103.97 per liter while the price of high speed diesel has been reduced by Rs 2.40 per liter.
It may be recalled that in the summary on petroleum prices, OGRA had proposed a reduction in petrol and diesel prices by up to Rs. 2 per liter.
It is to be noted that the Prime Minister had decided not to increase the prices of petroleum products for the month of September and had rejected the recommendation of OGRA.
