ISLAMABAD: The Drug Regulatory Authority (DRA) has issued a notification to increase the prices of 94 drugs, according to which blood pressure, cancer, heart and anti-rabies vaccines have become more expensive.

According to the notification issued by DRAP, the prices of medicines which have been increased include high blood pressure, cancer, heart diseases and anti-rabies vaccine.

The notification said that there would be two conditions for obtaining the increased MRP. The increased price of these drugs would remain frozen till June 30, 2021. Under the Drug Labeling and Packaging Rules 1986, MRP would be printed on the label of the packet.
It may be recalled that the Cabinet had approved the increase in the prices of the said 94 drugs. The Federal Cabinet had on September 22 last month approved the increase in the prices of these drugs.
Later, Dr. Faisal Sultan, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister, said that the government did not come under pressure on the issue of raising the prices of 94 medicines.
