School winter holidays and Decisions educational institutions open

ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Education Shafqat Mahmood in a meeting of inter-provincial education ministers decided not to close educational institutions in the country and agreed not to have minimum school winter holidays
According to details, an inter-provincial meeting of education ministers was held under the chairmanship of Education Minister Shafqat Mahmood in which officials of the Ministry of Health gave a briefing on the situation.
The participants in the meeting agreed that in the current situation there is no need to close educational institutions, educational institutions will remain open but SOPs should be implemented in educational institutions at all costs.In the meeting, the provinces agreed that there should be no minimum winter holidays or vacations and it was decided that there should be no winter holidays in Punjab. The decision on whether to have minimum winter holidays or not will depend on the provinces.
Agreed to continue consultations on changing the academic calendar
Sources said that no decision could be taken on the board examinations of the eighth, ninth and tenth academic years of the academic year from April to August. The next meeting of the inter-provincial education ministers will be held in December.
It may be recalled that the day before yesterday, Federal Minister for Education Shafqat Mahmood had said that a second wave of corona is visible to some extent, but so far there is no situation to close educational institutions.
