When should universities open across the country

ISLAMABAD: The National Command and Operations Center has decided to reopen universities across the country from February 1 and consulted with stakeholders on opening educational institutions.
According to details, a meeting of National Command and Operations Center was held under the chairmanship of Federal Minister Asad Umar. Dr Faisal Sultan and Education Minister Shafqat Mahmood attended the meeting.
The meeting was briefed on Corona cases, implementation status of SOPs in educational institutions and consultations were held with stakeholders regarding opening of educational institutions.
The NCOC has decided to open universities across the country from February 1.
It may be recalled that in the meeting of NCOC on January 15, the decision to open educational institutions from 9th to 12th was upheld from January 18 and the decision to open schools from 1st to 8th grade was extended by one week.
Shafqat Mahmood had said that it has been decided to open 1st to 8th class educational institutions from February 1, while universities and other educational institutions will also open from February 1.
