Chief Minister Sindh Murad Ali Shah Monday directed the provincial authorities to represent a joint investigation staff (JIT) to probe the homicide of slain journalist Ajay Lalwani.

The event comes after Sindh Journalist Council’s president demanded the chief minister kind a JIT on this regard.

The chief minister has penned a letter to the Inspector Basic of Sindh Police for establishing a JIT. Within the letter, the chief minister stated the JIT must be fashioned on the difficulty beneath the related legal guidelines, guidelines, and coverage.

Journalist Lalwani was murdered within the Saleh Pat space of Sukkur on March 18, 2021, by unknown assailants.

In the meantime, police have arrested 5 suspects — whereas two suspects, Raza Shah and Akbar Mangrio, in a video assertion, have confessed {that a} hitman had murdered the journalist.
