ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Science and Know-how Shibli Faraz Friday issued a letter to Free and Truthful Election Community (FAFEN) and Pakistan Institute of Legislative Improvement and Transparency (PILDAT), requesting them to examine the recently-developed digital voting machines (EVMs).

Faraz has maintained within the letter he appears to be like ahead to briefing FAFEN and PILDAT on the use and performance of the EVMs.

EVMs had been developed in compliance with the federal cupboard’s directives issued in mild of Prime Minister Imran Khan’s imaginative and prescient of clear elections in Pakistan, states the letter.

It additional states that PM Imran Khan, President Dr Arif Alvi, parliamentarians, and the Election Fee of Pakistan (ECP) have already inspected the EVMs.

EVMs ‘greatest’ answer

Faraz had declared the EVMs because the “greatest” answer to rigging, saying that the machines can’t be tampered with, so their use might make the elections clear.
